The University of Eastern Finland generates research-based knowledge that is openly accessible and benefits all. Our collaboration is based on impact, responsibility and sustainable partnerships. We collaborate with Finnish and international research institutes, universities and other educational institutions, as well as with business and industry, public sector actors and our alumni. We participate in ecosystems of impact, where latest research findings are extensively made use of by companies and communities. Our researchers raise awareness of scientific research in events aimed at the public. Our international network of collaboration includes around 100 universities from all over the world.

International collaboration
The University of Eastern Finland considers international collaboration and internationalisation as one of the cornerstones of its activities. The university seeks to attract an increasing number of international students and staff members, while at the same time promoting the internationalisation of its own staff and students. We are an active member of the international scientific community. Our EU Office is located in Brussels.
Impact arising from eastern Finland
We foster and promote the success of our region in the fields of science, culture, sports, business and industry, and regional development. We organise engaging research visits and science events on topical themes. We are also involved in numerous networks of collaboration and regional development projects in or pertaining to eastern Finland.
