This page introduces the research carried out in the Department of Social Psychology at the University of Eastern Finland. We study the relationship between individual, groups and society, mental health, social interaction, group processes and the construction of social meanings and images in everyday life. Our research links individual experience to wider social and societal processes. We use qualitative and quantitative methods in our research.

The next Annual Finnish Social Psychology Conference will be held on May 15–16, 2025, at the University of Eastern Finland in Kuopio. The theme of the event is ”Views to a Changing World”. We warmly welcome social psychologists, researchers, students, and professionals interested in social psychology from both Finland and abroad!
