Articles in scientific journals are a central method of publishing information about the latest research results.
Research articles (also called papers) can be searched from databases, which are specialised in collecting references about reliable scientific publications.
A reference database can be multidisciplinary or focused on a certain field of science.
Article databases

In many databases, it is possible to set up a so-called alert service, which announces when something new is published on the topic you are interested in. Read the instructions in the library blog.
UEF Primo can be used for searching articles, too.
Guidelines:
- Log in to UEF Primo to get a wider search result
- Select 'International articles' as a target of your keywords or search terms
- Articles are also included in 'All e-resources' and 'Everything'
- Refine the results by 'Availability online' if you want to see just the articles with full texts.
The search features in UEF Primo are somewhat limited in comparison with actual article reference databases. However, the range of resources searched is very broad.
Scientific articles with Google
Google Scholar search engine is intended for searching for scientific publications. Despite the name, Scholar also covers non-scientific and predatory publications, so it will be useful to check the level of the journal for instance from Publication Forum.
Research in Finland
Research articles, reports and other publications by Finnish universities and organisations can be searched from Research.fi service.
Research.fi contains information about publications from 2011 onwards.
UEF eRepository is a (self-) archive of publications by UEF staff.
