An open university is open for everybody, and so are our studies in over 100 different academic subjects.
With us, you can pick the courses that fit your needs. All our courses are parts of university degrees, and our curricula give you many opportunities to pursue either admission as a degree student or simply to update your skills. Most of our courses are offered as flexible online teaching, and you are encouraged to use our free guidance services for choosing and starting the courses which are right for you.
In addition to individual courses taught in English, we also offer the complete Basic Studies in Social Sciences, Basic Studies in Education, Lifelong Learning and Sustainable Development and Tourism Business studies in English, and are working on offering Basic Studies in Special Education in English, opening during the academic years 23-24 and 24-25.
Our English offering for the summer of 2024 can be found here.
We also offer an open university route to become a degree-pursuing student in Lifelong Learning and Sustainable Development by completing open-university studies.
The open university is a part of the University of Eastern Finland's Centre for Continuous Learning, which also offers varied and flexible academic continuing education and other services to various companies and organizations.
