Fluent Finnish! Spring 2025 is a hybrid training, which you can participate either in Joensuu or remotely.

Surviving in a new language and cultural environment requires some kind of language skills, even if the working language is something other than Finnish. It increases the employee's commitment to your company and the region by giving them the opportunity to strengthen their Finnish language skills. 

Employees from two or more organizations participate in joint coaching, allowing them to network with each other while learning the Finnish language and culture under the guidance of our professionals.

Fluent Finnish! –after language training learners master:

  • common basic verbs in everyday communication, conjugation and use of verbs 
  • basic asking and answering questions 
  • the parts of speech that are needed in inflecting the Finnish language 
  • the basics of small talk

10 x 1.5 h of language coaching at the University of Eastern Finland Joensuu or remotely via Microsoft Teams.

Cancellation Policy for Training Registration

You can cancel your registration for the training free of charge during the registration period. Cancellations should be made via email at lasse.reijonen@uef.fi. If the cancellation is made later, but before the training begins, the customer will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the total cost of the training.

If the registration is not canceled before the training starts, or if the student interrupts the training, the University of Eastern Finland will charge the full price of the training. Notice of the interruption must be given in writing to Planner Sanni Koivumäki at sanni.koivumaki@uef.fi.

If the registration has been made after the official registration period has ended (late registration) and the registration is canceled or the student does not attend the training, the full price of the training will be charged.

An exception is made for illnesses documented with a medical certificate. The certificate must be sent via secure email to Training Secretary Lasse Reijonen at lasse.reijonen@uef.fi.

The university is responsible for implementing the training according to the agreed schedule, content, facilities related to teaching, online learning environment, and quality of training. The relevant sections of the University of Eastern Finland's study regulations, § 28, 32, and 34, apply to the training. The ethical guidelines for teaching are followed: https://kamu.uef.fi/student-book/opetuksen-ja-opiskelun-eettiset-ohjeet/. The student is responsible for confirming their participation and attending the seminars and other meetings required by the training plan. Additionally, the student must ensure that assignments are completed by the deadlines. The language of instruction is Finnish.
