The course provides basic information about legal studies, e.g. using legal sources, analysing cases, referring to legal materials etc. In addition, main features of Finnish judicial system and judicial interpretation will be introduced.

Study methods
MOOC Course. After independent study, students must return an essay (5 pages). The course is worth 2 ECTS credits: lectures 12 h and independent study 40 h. Students must return an essay (5 pages). The course is worth 2 ECTS credits: independent study 50 h.
Evaluation criteria: The course will be graded pass/fail.

This course is open to everyone. The course is compulsory for all students enrolled in the International Study Programme in Law. The language of instruction is English. The course has a DigiCampus platform. Enrolment key will not be needed.
Register for individual study units. Study units cost 20 e / credit. This price holds for the academic year 2024–2025.
