The Principles of Digital Pedagogy in Instruction and Teaching study unit includes exploring six modules based on the framework for the digital competence of educators produced by the European Commission. See the DigCompEdu framework (Redecker 2017).
The modules are formed based on 22 competence areas and widely describe the professional activities of educators, the digital pedagogical content of teaching and learning, and enhancing digital competence among learners.
The modules include familiarisation with contents such as the following: how to utilise digital technologies in interaction, collaboration and professional development, how to produce and modify meaningful and interesting content in a digital learning environment as well as share and manage this, considering the challenges and benefits brought by a digital environment to learning, teaching and assessment, and what are the digital approaches educators can use for supporting students’ inclusion, and which aspects does information and media literacy concern.
This MOOC study unit is available for all at DigiCampus environment. You can start studying by logging in with a HAKA or Google account.
After completing the whole study unit you can download an unofficial certificate of completion that indicates that you have taken the study unit.
