What is the topic of your doctoral research? Why is it important to study the topic?
The topic of this doctoral research is integration of indigenous practices into computing education: The case of computing studies in Ghana. This doctoral research is extremely important because of its emphasis on theorizing of indigenous practices within target communities to make sense of critical computing concepts such as parameters, loops, conditionals, arrays and variables for Ghanaian senior high schools.
What are the key findings or observations of your doctoral research?
The major findings of this doctoral research explains that indigenous practices for one heterogeneous grouping is not necessary transferable to another heterogeneous grouping. Consequently, bodies of knowledge in relation to indigenous practices are not deterministic, but interactively constructed.
How can the results of your doctoral research be utilised in practice?
The doctoral research provided a wide range of pedagogical approaches envisaged for heterogeneous groupings in computing education.
What are the key research methods and materials used in your doctoral research?
This doctoral research provided solution to pedagogical problem through a pragmatic research approach - namely CbPR. The CbPR consisted of determination of pedagogical design objectives, the analysis of pedagogical design situations, pedagogical modelling and pedagogical experiments.
