The Finnish Symposium on Computational Biology 2023 is organised by the Regional Student Group (RSG) under the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) for Finland.
The symposium is tailored for Bioinformaticians and Computational Biologists. It's also an excellent opportunity for researchers or students working with biological data who are keen on exploring new bioinformatics methods, workflows, or challenges.
Join us for a dynamic gathering of bioinformaticians, researchers, and leading experts. Immerse yourself in the latest advancements, share innovative research, and foster valuable collaborations at this premier event celebrating computational biology in Finland.
Highlights of CompBio Kuopio 2023:
Esteemed Speakers: Engage with some of Finland's foremost bioinformatics researchers, including Merja Heinäniemi, Jussi Tohka, Ville Hautamäki, Pande Putu Erawijantari (PI. Leo Lahti), Dario Greco, Sampsa Hautaniemi, Anni Antikainen, Vittorio Fortino, and Luca Giudice.
Novel Methods: Be part of Finland's inaugural symposium spotlighting bioinformatics methods and algorithms developed by our local researchers. Topics span from machine learning, data mining, and biomedical image analysis to drug design and neuroinformatics.
Global Reach: In partnership with Nordic Computational Biology, our symposium will be streamed online. This means, our participants can virtually attend the Nordic bioinformatics events from Sweden (6-7 Nov), Denmark (8-9 Nov), and Finland (10 Nov) as part of NCB Week 2023. The full program is updated here: https://lnkd.in/dAkkifMB.
Attendees of the in-person event can request a certificate for credits: 0.5 credits for physical attendance and 1 credit for a poster presentation or short talk. (Note: Credit allocation may vary based on specific university regulations).
Our current sponsors include the Nordic e-Infrastructure Collaboration (NeIC), the International Society for Computational Biology (iSCB), Olink and Orion pharma. Snacks and coffee will be provided.
Registration open until 5 November.
