"Light for Families" Family Event

University of Eastern Finland, together with University of Eastern Finland’s LUMA Center and the Photonics Flagship PREIN, invites you to participate in the “Light for Families” family event, which will be held for the fourth time in the stunning surroundings of Joensuu’s Botania on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 10 AM to 2 PM.

The event offers a diverse program for participants of all ages and skill levels. This spring, the theme is an exploration of Planet Botania! An inspiring light-themed adventure will be organized for children (approximately 3–12 years old), where they will uncover the unique features of Planet Botania by solving light-related scientific challenges. The adventure is suitable for younger children with an accompanying adult and for older children independently.

At the event, you can also create a Mother’s Day gift for someone special using photonics, the technology of light science. Additionally, all participants will have the opportunity to explore the enchanting surroundings of Botania Art Garden.

The event is open to everyone and free of charge! So come along to enjoy a wonderful day with your family while also celebrating both International Boys’ Day and Mother’s Day.
