UEF Startup Day 2025, Kuopio

UEF Startup Day returns bigger than ever!

UEF Startup Day, being held for the 5th time, is coming back bigger than ever! The most central university-organized entrepreneurship event of the Spring 2025 will take place at the Kuopio campus in the Snellmania lobby on Thursday, March 27, from 10 AM to 3 PM.

The event will showcase UEF-related startups, entrepreneurial case studies, and commercialization projects. Attendees will also get to know about entrepreneurship services and courses offered by the university and various stakeholders, that can help students and researchers develop their own businesses, product or service ideas, and entrepreneurial mindset. The cases are very diverse and from different fields:

• DataSauna Oy (Valtteri Bovellan, Business School, Computer Sciences)
• Keicca Oy (Suvi Taberman, Environmental Sciences)
• Surgerix (Paavo Vartiainen, Technical Physics)
• TrueHear (Moona Korhonen, Health Sciences)
• TaskiMatti (Jesper Kauppinen, Kais Rautiainen & Valtteri Savonen, Computer Sciences)

This time, also North Savo Entrepreneurship Society (NSES) and KIUAS are joining the organization of the event!

North Savo Entrepreneurship Society (NSES) is a student-led organization that fosters a generation of bold entrepreneurs in Kuopio. Its goal is to provide concrete resources and support to those considering entrepreneurship even during their studies. NSES is actively involved in the event’s organization and will host a workshop on the prerequisites for launching a startup. Learn more about NSES here, and Instagram.

KIUAS, originating from Aalto Entrepreneurship Society, is a startup accelerator and matchmaking platform. During UEF Startup Day, KIUAS will organize the KIUAS Co-Founder Matchmaking session, where participants can find a co-founder for their business idea, strengthen their startup team, or join existing startup teams. It’s a great opportunity to find the right partner to develop your business idea. Learn more about KIUAS here.

The event is open to all students, researchers, and staff interested in entrepreneurship, regardless of their field of study or educational background, as well as representatives of entrepreneurship-related organizations.

The primary language of the event is English.

Pizza and coffee will be available for those who register in advance by 25 March.
