The universities will decide on the reform of the scoring model for certificate-based admission in 2023. The new model will be introduced in 2026. The aim is also to increase collaboration related to entrance examinations among universities.
In response to the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Ukraine, the University of Eastern Finland will make it possible for Ukrainian degree students to apply for admission to the University of Eastern Finland under a separate right to study, and to apply for a grant.
The total number of applicants for the university’s Master’s degree programmes taught in English was 2,535, which is 27.1% more than last year.
The university’s first two Bachelor’s degree programmes taught in English, i.e., the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Social Sciences and the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Lifelong Learning and Sustainable Development, will be inviting applications via the Finnish universities’ joint application system.
The application period to Master’s degree programmes taught in English at the University of Eastern Finland opens on Wednesday, 1 December 2021, and closes on Wednesday, 19 January 2022. Both Finnish and international applicants with a suitable Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification may apply for admission to the programmes.
The University of Eastern Finland’s research funding course has been met with positive feedback.
