If you need a visa to enter Finland, you should apply for it at your home country before leaving for Finland. You can check the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland website to find out what travel documents you need to enter Finland. Please follow the instructions of the embassy when applying for a visa.
You will receive your official acceptance letter via the application portal after you have paid the course fee. Please indicate on the application form or by email (summer.school@uef.fi) if you need an original acceptance letter for visa purposes.
More information:
Information on arriving to Joensuu will be sent to you by email after you have been accepted to the Summer School.
NB! UEF Summer School is arranged in Joensuu. Please do not arrive and book accommodation in Kuopio for the duration of Summer School, as there is a distance of approx. 150 kilometres between the cities.
The Summer School participation fees do not cover accommodation, so you will need to make the arrangements for your stay yourself. We will provide a list of reasonably priced accommodation providers (hotels, hostels etc.) upon the opening of the application period in February/March. Be sure to contact accommodation providers directly to make the necessary arrangements.
If you would like to share a room with another participant, you can use UEF Summer School Facebook as a way to contact other possible participants. Please note that UEF Summer School staff is not able to connect participants for shared accommodation due to GDPR regulations.
