The data science and informatics infrastructure carries out research that meets high international standards, while supporting data management, analyses, computing services including servers, high performance computers, information security, and methodological development of researchers, and providing the related services. The service is built to meet the needs of researchers and research groups. Services and projects are provided both for actors at the University of Eastern Finland and for external collaborators. In addition, the infrastructure is involved in national and international projects.
The infrastructure is an active network that operates across faculty and departmental borders serving the other UEF infrastructures and research communities extensively.
