Jannatul Ferdous Shoshi, a second-year Master’s student in Public Health at UEF, shares her experience studying at UEF. Jannatul discusses why she decided to apply to UEF, her favorite thing about studying, her most memorable moment in Finland, and more.
Why did you decide to apply to UEF?
I decided to apply to UEF because of its reputation for quality education and research activities. I was also impressed by the range of academic programs and courses offered by the university. The scholarship opportunities were also a big factor in my decision.
What has been your favorite thing in your studies so far?
My favorite thing about studying at UEF is the systems they have in place for students to provide feedback on courses and teaching quality. This feedback can lead to improvements in the quality of education provided by the university. Additionally, UEF encourages active student participation, critical thinking, and problem-solving, which are skills that will be valuable throughout my career.
Both Finland and Kuopio are known for their high standard of living and a strong emphasis on work-life balance.

In your opinion, what is the best thing about Finland and Kuopio?
One of the best things about Finland is its education system, which is known for its high quality and equitable access. In Kuopio, the beautiful Finnish Lakeland region stands out, offering stunning lakes, forests, and outdoor activities. Additionally, both Finland and Kuopio are known for their high standard of living and a strong emphasis on work-life balance.

If you're considering applying to UEF, I'd say it's a great choice. UEF is known for its high-quality education, a wide range of programs, and a supportive academic environment. What are your plans after graduation?
After completing my Master's degree, I plan to pursue a PhD.
