The course consists of the following employment themes

  1. Job seeking process and plan
  2. Job seeking channels and methods
  3. Opportunities in the labour market and marketing one’s competences and skills
  4. Job seeking skills
  5. The rights and obligations of jobseekers

Learning outcomes: The course provides basic information on job seeking. After completing the course, students will have knowledge and means to develop their employment capacities and skills. They will also be able to draw up concrete job search plans. They will be able to look and apply for jobs intentionally by using various job seeking methods. Implementing the course online will help train the students’ digital and online collaboration skills, independent work approach and time management.

The student will complete the course independently online within the given deadlines. No lectures or other meetings.

The course consists of the following employment themes

Modes of study: Students acquaint themselves with the material in the learning environment and complete the required assignments. Interaction with other students in the learning environment is essential to the way of learning in this course. To pass the course (PASS/FAIL), students must complete the tasks in the learning environment successfully.

Schedule: 07.01.2025 - 14.03.2025

Learning materials: Material will be distributed during the course.

Further information: The course is offered in the autumn and spring semesters. The course is open to all undergraduate and graduate students and the students with the continued right to study as well as open university students. The course is best suited for students for whom the transition into working life and job seeking are topical. The self-study course in career planning 1 ECTS is recommendable as previous studies.

Study units cost 20 € / credit point. This price holds for the academic year 2024–2025.

The course can be completed in either English or Finnish. If you complete in Finnish, register on the Finnish website. If you are completing in English, change the language of the site to English and register afterwards.

If you do not have a UEF username, you will also get instructions for activating one. Access rights will be added to your username when your study right begins.
