Content: German course for beginners! During the course, students practice the vocabulary, phrases and structures needed in the communicative situations listed in the learning outcomes. They practice communicative situations both orally and in writing.
After completing this course, the student is able to discuss various everyday situations in German in routine-like interactive situations. The student is able to write simple messages for the needs of everyday life, including studies. The student familiarizes itself with the culture and everyday life in German-speaking Europe, and the student can act naturally in most situations where cultural differences matter. Moreover, the student is able to talk about his/her country in German. The students can use the relevant German structures in the above situations.
The objective is to gain level A1.1. language skills in German. (Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level A1.1.)
Study methods
The course is mostly independent study and pair exercises but there are optional Zoom lectures too.
Schedule: The course is organized from January 27 to April 20. Please note that independent studying starts before the first Zoom lecture.
The teaching language is English.
There are 10 places reserved for open university students on this course. The course is organized in cooperation with the KiVANET cooperation network. If you are a degree student in a Finnish university, please register according to the instructions of the KiVANET network.
The study fee is 20 euros per ECTS credit for individual study units. The study fee is paid at registration.
