Happy 15th anniversary, University of Eastern Finland!
This year, we are celebrating our 15th anniversary. The University of Eastern Finland was founded in 2010 through the merger of two well-established Finnish universities: the University of Joensuu and the University of Kuopio.
Today, we are proud to be known as the most multidisciplinary university in Finland, with our high standard of interdisciplinary research and education ranked among the best in the world in several fields. We offer education in nearly 100 major subjects and 12 fields of study. Our research addresses global challenges, and we train future experts for evolving labour market needs, thus building a sustainable future for us all.
To celebrate our anniversary, this website features some examples of our achievements – of our action with impact – from the past 15 years. Of these, and countless others, we are truly proud.
