The University of Eastern Finland will showcase its expertise in collaboration with Kuopio Health at Radical Health Festival Helsinki 2023, a new pan-European conference bringing together key players in digital health. The speakers include UEF experts addressing the themes of brain health and healthcare cost-effectiveness.
The first Radical Health Festival Helsinki takes place at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre from 12 to 14 June 2023. The themes of the event include digitalisation of healthcare, AI, active aging, cyber security, mental health, and innovations. Participants from private and public sector, healthcare professionals, and patients are all invited to join and find solutions to the complex problems of healthcare systems.
The Kuopio Health ecosystem, the University of Eastern Finland, Savonia University of Applied Sciences, and the City of Kuopio will be represented at a joint stand at the event. The speakers include Alina Solomon, Associate Professor of Neuroepidemiology, and Janne Martikainen, Professor of Pharmacoeconomics, who will give their presentations in the Digital Public Health session.
The University of Eastern Finland has a long history of research in the effectiveness of various interventions and digital solutions in the prevention of chronic diseases. The topic of Solomon’s presentation is precision prevention of dementia based on the FINGER model, whereas Martikainen will address precision prevention from the perspective of health economics.
