During autumn 2023, UEF Water is organizing an "after-lunch coffee" seminars on Thursdays at 1pm. In the seminars, researchers from UEF Water, and other research communities and institutes present their on-going research or water related current topics.
On September 28th at 1pm, incoming Postdoctoral Researcher, Dr. Kelsey Johansen (UEF) explores her research journey to Finland and emerging postdoctoral research project ‘Water Recreation, Well-being and Tourism in the Finnish Lakeland Region’.

Dr. Kelsey M. Johansen is a Postdoctoral Fellow (Water Recreation, Well-Being, and Tourism) at the University of Eastern Finland, where she works in the UEF Business School (Joensuu Campus) and is cross appointed to UEF WATER and the Tourism Business Research Group. She is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Royal Roads University (Victoria, Canada), and Lakehead University (Thunder Bay, Canada) where she supervises graduate student research.
As a broadly trained social scientist, Dr. Johansen’s work focuses on projects that identify and activate community assets to develop sustainable recreation and tourism products while promoting knowledge mobilization and translation within and across sectors, using a community-centred, service-focused, and solution-oriented lens.
