University of Eastern Finland presents awards to young researchers – Young Researchers’ Evening 2022

Enthusiasm, meaningfulness and tolerance to uncertainty: the career of a young researcher is influenced by many forces.

The University of Eastern Finland’s Young Researchers’ Evening will focus on the opportunities of working as a researcher, and on academic career development. In the event, Rector Jukka Mönkkönen will present the Young Researcher Awards in recognition of an outstanding doctoral dissertation completed at the end of the early stage researcher career phase. We will also hear speeches by the awardees representing different fields.

In addition, Academic Rector Tapio Määttä will give a speech encouraging engagement in science communication. Head of Research Services Jaana Backman will talk about the future prospects of young researchers in the EU. Her speech will be in English.
