Georgia is known for its highly original music and culture. The UEF School of Theology and its discipline of church music is organizing a Georgian theme week on 23–27 May 2022. Associate Professor, ethnomusicologist Tamaz Gabisonia from the Ilia State University (Tbilisi) will give lectures and lead musical workshops that are open to all. The event begins the Erasmus+ teacher mobility between the UEF School of Theology and the Ilia State University.

The UEF School of Theology discipline of Practical Theology, together with the Finnish Orthodox Clergy Association, organize a workshop that focuses on contemporary questions of pastoral theology and sexuality, on 28–29 April 2022. The lecturer and supervisor of the workshop is Dr Vasileios Thermos, Associate Professor of Pastoral Care at the Higher Ecclesiastical Academy of Athens, who is also a theologian and a youth psychiatrist. The lectures and the workshop are primarily offered for students of theology. Students in other fields are also welcome! The language of the workshop is English. It is possible to complete an assignment for 2 study credits.

What kind of perspectives do Christian churches and communities have on homosexuality and LGBTQ+ rights? How are they visible in congregational life? The School of Theology invites audience to take part in a seminar in which these questions are analyzed. The seminar begins with an academic session (in English) and concludes with a pastoral panel discussion (in Finnish). The seminar is part of the East Meets West event series at the School of Theology.
