Research
The mission of the Faculty of Science, Forestry and Technology is to conduct scientifically high-level and societally highly impactful education and research in the fields of natural sciences and forest sciences.
The Faculty of Science, Forestry and Technology is a key implementer of the University of Eastern Finland’s strategy in the following research communities:

Our research communities
Studies
The mission of the Faculty of Science, Forestry and Technology is to provide education and conduct research in natural sciences and forestry which are of a high academic standard and have a strong impact on society.
The faculty educates specialists for the changing world of work in the future and also provides a comprehensive foundation for postgraduate education. Positions for doctoral students become available in the international research environments of our units through our multidisciplinary doctoral degree programme. In the faculty, it is also possible to complete medical physicist specialization studies in the form of professional postgraduate education. The faculty's international Master’s Degree Programmes are attractive and inviting. The faculty's teaching is being developed through the use of new educational technologies.
